Do you have a unique or artistic “eye” for your community that you’d like to share? TVCOGECO is looking for volunteers to create interesting web videos and photos of the people, places and events that make up this great community. Our website offers a new and unique way to participate with TVCOGECO by uploading your video and photos for everyone to see. So show off your creativity and help us cover what’s going on in your community every day. Contact us to see how you can be part of the picture.
Volunteers play an important role at TVCOGECO in Burlington-Oakville, both behind the scenes and in front of the cameras. We maintain our volunteer roster by offering orientation and training sessions for new volunteers as they are needed, approximately twice per year.
In order to offer a quality experience to our volunteers and help ensure a return on our training commitment, we consider several criteria when selecting applicants:
• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
• Applicants’ availability must match our production needs. Because productions occur during daytime, evening and weekends, we may give preference to applicants who are available at specific times.
• Applicants who already possess some relevant skills or demonstrate suitable aptitude may receive preference.
• Applicants who are likely to become unavailable in the next year are seldom selected. Our training workshop is only introductory; skills are developed over time through on-the-job training.
• Applicants are asked for a minimum commitment of two productions per month.
If you would like to apply to be a volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Edith_Juurinen to request an application. Edith will contact you to let you know of placement availability and provide details on the next orientation date. Thank you for your interest.
