April Colby says volunteering with TVCOGECO has given her a new perspective on Chatham-Kent. April volunteers as an on-air host for many local programs ranging from WAMBO to craft shows to the Families First New Year’s Eve celebration.
She says she started volunteering because she “misses reporting, she enjoys people and she loves being on camera – so it seems like a natural fit”. April kept on volunteering because she enjoyed being a part of our community and she really liked being involved with events in the area. “After every show, I leave feeling a bit more connected to Chatham-Kent. Sometimes it’s hard to see all the great things this community has to offer.”
April likes hearing the feedback she gets on the shows she hosts, “especially when they mention that they learned something about the event they weren’t aware of.”
