Tianna’s Tidbits
TVCOGECO creates its local TV programs with the help of trained volunteers. You can become one of those volunteers. In our TVCOGECO production facilities we will provide you with professional training in television broadcasting. Most of TVCOGECO’s productions are produced by crews and on-air hosts that are community volunteers. They’ve learned their skills at our studio workshops, and through hands on training.
For more information on becoming a TVCOGECO volunteer, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Shawn Behnke at (613) 735-2100 Ext. 235.
Thank you to our existing terrific TVCOGECO volunteers who are involved in my productions and make them possible! Such as; CJHL hockey coverage Jamie Bramburger, Dave Noppe, Tanya Beyer, Trevor Riley, Rusty Restoueix, Stephan Bonnici, Sheri Lorebetskie, and Dean Tierney.
Thank you Doug Holmes, Gerry Blandford, Margo Rouble, Jake Ritchie, Jason Briscoe and Caroline Connelly who take part in studio productions, council
productions, parade coverage and Jr. B hockey coverage.

New Co-op Student!
Written by: Emilie Saucier
I’m an 11th grade student from l’école l’Equinoxe. I am doing a COOP placement at TVCOGECO since I want to discover the television world and see what’s behind the camera. Also, I would like to learn more about the careers that are available since I want to pursue my post secondary studies in this domain.
At my school, I am the president of our student council and I represent the high school students at the school council. Also, I’m the school’s representative and the secretary for the student senate of our school board. I get involved in all sorts of activities with FESFO, which is the Federation for the Franco-Ontarian youth, as well.

Legends and Lore
From all over the world and as far back as history has been recorded myth and legend have been an integral part of the human story. These stories have been used to entertain, frighten and explain the unexplainable.
Legends & Lore strives to tap into these local mythologies. With a strong history of lumbering and religious settlement in the Ottawa Valley, many tales and myths have been woven and passed down over the years. Some were used to explain what could not be explained in a very different time, while yet other stories were used to strengthen religious and economic pursuits. Regardless of its origin, the stories contained within Legends & Lore reflect our local culture and ancestry.
Through narrative, interviews and actor recreation, Legends & Lore weaves compelling and diverse stories that represent the unique character of Ottawa Valley life; past and present. The series is not only entertaining and informative; it is a record of “times gone by”.
There were many strong volunteer contributions in this season’s new Legends & Lore episode. From a production standpoint, volunteers assisted in script writing, story research, actor recreation, prop and costume acquisition, location scouting, EFP camera operation and field lighting. Gerry Blandford and Ashley Angel helped with camera work, lighting and script assisting in the recreation of the Springtown Massacre. Nate MacIsaac helped with lighting, script assisting and continuity during the production of the Legend of the Chusroskie House. Fellow TVCOGECO producer, Tianna Tierney helped with all facets of direction and production as we recreated the Mayflower Tragedy in Combermere. Without the tireless efforts of these and many more volunteers a series as resource intensive as Legends & Lore could never be possible. Thanks to all those who helped through their acting or production support. Well done!
